DimplesOn Automatic transmission cars without cruise control
There are (3) three dimples that are in a diagonal line
on a flat spot on the firewall, below the master cylinder
and towards the drivers side fender. Center dimple is the
center of the clutch rod hole and is used for the pilot hole
of the hole saw.
Cruise Control Hole On automatic cars with cruise control there is a
1 7/16/' hole that will most likely need "opened up"
for clutch rod clearance. This hole is centered between
the other two dimples.
Original Clutch Rod Hole This is a factory made hole on an original 4 speed
1980 Malibu. The hole is 2 1/8" in diameter and the
outer two dimples are used for the clutch rod boot
retention screws.
